Short history of the department “Technology of cellulose and woodworking”

 

1. The names of the department:

Uzbek - «Целлюлоза ва ёғочсозлик технологияси» кафедраси

Russian - Кафедра «Технология целлюлозы и деревообработки»

English - Department of the «Technology of cellulose and woodworking»

 

2. Short history of the department:

The department was organized in 2004 by professor Rahmanberdiyev Gappar Rahmanberdivich as a part of Tashkent chemistry-technology institute. The department purpose is training highly-skilled personnel for the pulp-and-paper and furniture industries quickly developing branches in the Republic of Uzbekistan

      From the date of the department organization it was accepted 325 bachelors and more than 50 masters, the majority of them successfully work in the various enterprises of the pulp-and-paper and furniture industry, and also in higher educational institutions and Republic scientific research institutes.

      From  2004 to 2016  the  department  was  managed  by  prof. Rahmanberdiev G. R,  prof. Sajfutdinov R. S, assis. prof. Alimov I.M., assis. prof. Мurodov М.М.  In  2013 c.t.sc.,  assis. prof.  Khusenov A.SH. was appointed as the head of the department by the order of scientific council of the institute through the competition and the department is being managed by assis. prof. Akmalova G.Yu. up to the present time

 

         3. The teaching staff of the department:

 

         In the department two professors (d.ch.sci., prof. Rakhmonberdiyev G.R., d. tech. sci., d. tech. sci., prof..Primkulov М.Т.), four assistant-professors (c.ch.sci., assis. prof.Akmalova G. Yu., c.tech.sci., assis. prof. Assis. prof.  Alimov I.M.., c.tech.sci., assis. prof. Khabibullayev R. A.), 2 senior teachers(c.ch.sci.sen. t. Egamberdiev E.A., sen. t. Ilxomov G.U.) and two assistants (assis. Umarova V.K. Muxiddinov,) are workingр. Assis. prof.  Khusenov A.Sh. gives part-time lessons. Assistants on the academic affairs – the study chief Djamilova N.А., doctoral candidate Ergashova С.М. laboratory technicians Khamdamova D.Sh.  and Маrdonov А.Х.

4 Directions of educational process of the department:

 

  In the department from 2004/2005 educational processes are organized on the following directions of bachelor and master’s specialties:

 - 5320300 – Technological of machine and the equipment (cellulose-paper)

 - 5А320306 - Technology and processes of the manufacture of cellulose and paper

 - 5320300 - Technological of machine and the equipment (on the woodworking technology)

 - 5А320307 - Technology of woodworking, and equipment, wood sciences

         From 2015/2016 educational processes on following directions of bachelor’s and master’s specialties are being conducted.

 - 5320300 - Technological machine and the equipment (cellulose-paper)

 - 5А320306 - Technology and processes of the manufacture of cellulose and paper

 - 5320300 - Technological machine and the equipment (on the woodworking technology)

 - 5А320307 – Technology of  woodworking and wood sciences

 

 

For the purpose of expansion of activity of the department on the future is provided to open directions “Technology of cellulose and paper” and “Design of furniture” for the bachelor’s degree, and “Technology of cellulose ethers” for a master’s degree in addition

         Now the number of students in the department is 160 and all of them are trained on day training. In 2016 the graduation of  60  bachelors and  8 masters is expected.

 

5. Training specialists

 

         The department basically trains mature qualified professionals for the enterprises of the cellulose-paper and furniture industries in our Republic. Students’ professional practice is occupied in the corresponding enterprises.

      On the bachelor’s specialty 5320300 - Technology of woodworking industry, the machines and the equipment (on the cellulose and paper manufacture) and

on the master’s specialty 5А320306 – “Technology and processes of the manufacture of cellulose and paper” can continue the activity on contractual bases at following enterprises:

Organizing experiment of defending final qualified works on the specialty 5320300 – “Technology of woodworking industry, the machines and the equipment (on the woodworking technology)” is being used in territory of the corresponding enterprises from 2010/2011.

6. Scientific activity of chair.

6.1. A professional training.

 

  Since 2004 in the department 5 candidates and 1 doctor of sciences have been defended. One doctor's and 2 master's theses are on the eve of defense:

  3. Rysbaeva G. S – “Technology of obtaining xylite from beer pellet methods of simultaneous hydrolysis and hydrogenation» - 2010.

  4. Huseyinov A.S. – “Technology of obtaining inulin derivatives from  powder of tubers Topinambour” - 2011.

  5. Yunukhodjayeva E.N. – “Research of thermodynamic properties of solutions of some acetomixed cellulose ethers” - 2012.

  6. Kedelbayev B.S. – “Synthesis and technology of obtaining xylite and polyol at presence of promotor contacts with the set properties» (doctor's) - 2006.

  At present 5 trainee –investigators and 4 senior researchers are conducting their scientific works.

The textbooks written by professor-teachers were rewarded with II Degree diploma in the Republican competition named “The author of the best textbook and manual of the year” organized by the Ministry of higher and secondary e education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the fund “Istedod” in 2010 (the textbook “ABC of paper technology”, 2010) and in 2011with III Degree diploma (the textbook “Technology of paper”, 2011).

 

8. Spirituality, education and sports.

 

         The teaching staff of the department are group teachers. Except educational process they are actively involved in organizing affairs of cultural, educational and sport events.  Organizing visits to visit museums, theatres, historical places, various sights in Tashkent, they introduce the students with cultural news. They organize various sporting events among other higher educational institutions. Also exchange the scientific achievements with the students of other high schools. As well as a visit to special exhibitions on the specialty is organized. Actively participate in the various conferences devoted to achievements of science of the interested of their area.

         The department cooperates with institutes in Tashkent on research works. Including on making herbal substances with the chemists in National university, on the creating the new modificated kinds of cellulose with Academy of sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Polymers physics and chemistry and Bioorganic chemistry research institute, in collaboration textbooks and manuals are being written with the professor-teachers of Tashkent textile and light industry institute and Tashkent state pedagogy university named Nizomi.

With the help of Cellulose-paper manufacture enterprises and furnituremaking enterprises scientific experiments are carried out. Including experiments  on the creating new methods of obtaining paper from plant Topinambour on a large scale with Namangan paper manufacture enterprise are being carried out.

Interesting articles adjusting to the specialty are being published in the current newspaper of institute.

In the sporting events holding at the institute professor-teachers are participating alongside with students. Professors Rahmonberdiev G. R and Primkulov M. T were repeatedly champions of the institute on chess.

 The department has communications with many leading high schools of the scientific research institutes of the CIS and Europe.

1. Russian forestry engineering academy (St.-Petersburg) – discussing new scientific results on the cellulose polymer and carrying out some analysis.

2. The institute of high-molecular compounds of Russian Academy of Sciences (St.-Petersburg) – obtaining water-soluble ethers of cellulose and physiologically active polymers on their basis.   

3. State technical university of vegetative and polymers (Russia) - in the field obtaining cellulose and paper.

  4. Uzbek-Kazakh humanitarian-technical university - an exchange of experience

    5. Southern Kazakhstan state university named Auyezov – to hold conferences    

   about scientific results on the natural polymers
