The II forum of rectors of Uzbekistan-Hungary higher education institutions was held. A road map was signed between the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and Obuda University

On May 19 of this year, the II forum of rectors of Uzbek-Hungarian higher education institutions was organized in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. At the international forum, a delegation consisting of more than 10 rectors, vice-rectors and responsible leaders of HEIs led by the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Komiljon Karimov, including the rector of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology Botir Usmanov, International Cooperation Zebo Babakhanova, press officer Egamnazar Abdulboqiev took part in the event.

The international conference was opened by Dr. Balázs HANKÓ, State Secretary for Innovation and Higher Education of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, warmly welcomed the guests and said that this forum is important for the further development of bilateral cooperation.

- First of all, I would like to express that we are satisfied with the common goals of our two ministries. It is important that our universities work more closely with the private sector. In cooperation, we will achieve the development of the economy of the two countries by increasing the number of talented students. Increasing joint scientific projects and developing professional education will also be an important part of our cooperation, Balázs HANKÓ said.

First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Komiljon Karimov, who spoke on behalf of Uzbekistan, noted that as a result of the first rectors' forum held in Uzbekistan, cooperation between universities has expanded significantly, and noted that important agreements will be reached at this forum.

- Today, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary in the fields of education, science and innovation is gaining momentum. I would like to note that in recent years, the Hungarian side has increased the number of annual scholarships of the Hungarian government from 30 to 170. Of course, we consider this a great contribution of the Hungarian side to the training of highly qualified personnel for our economy, - said K. Karimov.

Also, those who spoke at the conference spoke about cooperation between the two countries in the field of education, its achievements and prospects. Wishing success to the work of the forum, it was emphasized that the result of this prestigious conference will serve to accelerate the relations between the countries in the field.

The forum continued its work in the format of a plenary meeting, and in the end more than 30 documents were signed.

At the general meeting, the rector of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology B.Usmanov made a presentation on the topic "Strengthening the role of higher education in the development of strategic cooperation: integration of science, education and production", economic development indicators of Uzbekistan and Hungary, cooperation Prospective areas of development, including engineering, mechatronics, food technology and food security, and other areas were touched upon. The Hungarian side was presented with promising educational and scientific projects implemented by the government of our republic, including the project of creating an educational-production cluster for the chemical industry.

- The young and growing population of Uzbekistan constitutes a large labor market. The population of Uzbekistan is 35 million, including 19.4 million people of working age. Currently, more than 100 universities enroll 150,000 students annually. In April 2023, the government of Uzbekistan launched the "School of Advanced Engineering" projects, the purpose of which is to train creative and development-oriented engineers who can contribute to society and actively participate in the world.

The Higher Engineering School of the Chemical Industry at the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology will consist of the main educational programs of TKTI such as "Mechanical engineering and automation", "Technology of silicate materials and rare and rare metals" and "Chemical technology and oil and gas technologies". An advanced engineering school that is good enough to be globally active and capable of solving competitive schemes and problems, with communication skills and human resources to solve technical problems related to the production system. develops comprehensive knowledge in an integrated manner. To achieve this, we support the four educational goals listed below and provide advanced professional training and research based on a consecutive "4 + 2 years" education. We are ready to develop advanced engineering schools and the highly developed "Dual education system" in Hungary under the universities of Uzbekistan, and we invite Hungarian partners to cooperate in these areas, - said rector B. Usmanov.

The meeting also discussed the introduction of innovations in the training of pharmacology, pharmaceutical and medical specialties of universities, the training of technologists in the field of agriculture and water resources use, industrial water purification and drip irrigation using modern biotechnologies, the Uzbek language in the Hungarian Higher Education Institution. teaching issues were discussed.

After the negotiations, more than 30 memoranda and contracts were signed in the fields of engineering, mechatronics, robotics, socio-economics, and mutual documents were exchanged on joint training of personnel. Among them, between TKTI rector B. Usmanov and Hungarian Obuda University rector Levente Kovach "2023-2024 y.y. "roadmap for the development of cooperation" was signed. According to this map, it was agreed to organize academic exchange of students and professors, joint educational and scientific projects, scientific conferences and forums, as well as the joint development of the joint technology park "Smart industry in mechatronics" between HEIs.
