       Scientific activities of the department

The department has been conducting research on the topic of "Creation of high-molecular compounds and plastics based on pentosan-containing compounds" for many years. To date, new generations of oligomers and polymers containing furan rings in the main macromolecule have been created in this area, and their structure has been studied. As a result, it became possible to regulate the number of pre-set furan rings in the oligomer macromolecule and thereby create polymers with different properties. In addition, the department is currently studying the synthesis of polyethylene terephthalate based on secondary polyethylene terephthalate waste, the theoretical foundations and technology for creating rubber products for various purposes, the creation of paints and varnishes and paints and varnishes based on local raw materials for the automotive and domestic industries, scientific work is being carried out on polymer compositions, the basics of creating effective ingredients and components based on the localization program for rubber industry enterprises, methods for processing secondary waste from the rubber industry and technologies for obtaining materials based on them. The department constantly runs a scientific and methodological seminar. The seminars discuss the results of scientific and scientific-methodological work carried out by the department's professors, as well as lectures on current issues in polymer chemistry and technology.

The department staff is working on the following research projects:
