The delegation included employees of the institute, students, craftsmen and representatives of culture.
In order to ensure the implementation of the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 20/1-867 dated March 29, 2024, the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to prepare for the holding of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand in 2025” (No. PQ-128, 15.03.2024), and to widely promote the results of the reforms being implemented in our country, events called “The Priceless Heritage of Uzbekistan” were organized at the Bratislava University of Economics and Management of the Slovak Republic, the University of Vienna in Austria, and the Vienna branch of Webster University, where national crafts, national costumes and dances were demonstrated.
During the visit, presentations were organized in collaboration with the Webster University Branch in Vienna, the University of Vienna, and the Bratislava University of Economics and Management, promoting the rich cultural heritage, economic, tourism, and gastronomic potential of our country. Special emphasis was placed on the fact that in 2025, for the first time in 40 years, the 43rd session of the General Conference of the organization will be held in Samarkand, the city of UNESCO, outside its headquarters.
As part of the event, samples of national crafts, an exhibition of national costumes, national dances and melodies included in UNESCO were performed by the institute's students, and osh was distributed to the participants of the event.
A total of about 200 representatives of the diplomatic corps, political, business, scientific and educational circles, as well as students studying at universities, including Uzbek students, participated in these events.
The second part of the events was organized at Webster University in Vienna.
At the event, Webster University Director Samuel Schubert expressed his immense respect for Uzbekistan and noted that such events play an important role in uniting peoples. Mr. Schubert highly appreciated the high level of knowledge and worldview of Uzbek students, noting that this is a practical result of educational reforms in our country.
Also, the special arrival of Webster University CEO Ryan Gaffey from Switzerland to Vienna to participate in the presentation demonstrated the high level of cooperation in the field of education with Uzbekistan. The exhibition of national costumes and handicrafts at the event aroused great interest among the participants.
These events aimed at developing cooperation and interaction will serve to strengthen the image of our country on the international stage.
Speaking at the presentation held at the University of Vienna, Professor Tugrul Kurt of this university acknowledged with pleasure that he had the opportunity to see with his own eyes the great contribution of the people of Uzbekistan to Islamic civilization not only by reading in books, but also during his visit to Samarkand. He noted that special training courses should be organized for the study of the rich history of our country by young foreign scholars, expressed his readiness to develop cooperation in this direction and plans to visit Uzbekistan again next year.
During the presentation, during the meeting of the head of the delegation B. Usmanov with the Deputy Head of the Institute Ednan Aslan, an agreement was reached to organize an online meeting with Austrian professors on the topic of training specialists in the field of chemistry in January 2025 and to organize a visit of a group of students from the University of Vienna to Uzbekistan in April 2025. Also, as part of the visit, the head of the delegation B. Usmanov held bilateral meetings with the Honorary Consuls of Uzbekistan in Austria and Slovakia B. Kandov and L. Chernak, and the Deputy Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry at the University of Vienna P. Libersayt, and agreed to develop cooperation in improving the qualifications of Uzbek students and postgraduates.
