A scientific and practical roundtable discussion was held on the problems of desertification and drought

A roundtable discussion on environmental problems was held at the Tashkent Institute of Chemistry and Technology on the occasion of "June 17 - World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought".

The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Economic and Organizational Issues B.B. Kadyrov, Head of the Department of "Industrial Ecology" F.B. Igitov, Professor of the Department of "Industrial Ecology" Kh.L. Pulatov, members of the Executive Committee of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, representatives of ministries and departments, leading environmental scientists, industry specialists, students and youth, and representatives of the media.

The event focused on the implementation of priority tasks set out in the resolution of the Head of State of February 22, 2019 “On measures to increase the effectiveness of work to combat desertification and drought in the Republic of Uzbekistan”. During the presentations, the participants shared knowledge and experiences on the role of science, innovation, youth activism, and international cooperation in combating environmental problems
