On December 19, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Center for Advanced Skills Development “Point of Attraction” (“Точка притяжения”), created on the basis of the technologies of the Russian “Skolkovo” technopark, was held at the “INNO” educational and production technopark under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. It was attended by heads of ministries and departments, officials of the Russian Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for the Promotion of New Projects, heads of higher educational institutions, as well as the leadership of the institute, led by the rector of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology Usmonov Botir Shukurillayevich.
The event was opened by the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shokhrukh Daliyev, who expressed confidence that the center will serve the modernization of engineering education, taking into account the needs of the current stage of socio-economic development of our country.
We aim to raise the country's high-tech industrial potential to a higher level in the coming years. Currently, modern production facilities have been established in Uzbekistan, which require highly qualified engineers, said the First Deputy Minister. - Our task now is to train personnel for new production facilities in such areas as energy, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, mining, alternative energy sources, nuclear power, oil and gas production, railway construction, and the textile industry.
The purpose of establishing this center is to promote general and additional technical education programs, as well as to attract companies in the technological sector of the economy, leading research institutes, and polytechnic universities to cooperation.
The opening of the first center of competences - "Gravity Point" - on the territory of the "INNO" educational and production technopark marks a new stage in cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia aimed at jointly creating knowledge, technologies and innovations.
The two countries have long-standing fruitful cooperation in the field of science and education. Joint work between scientists of Uzbekistan and Russia in the field of fundamental research and applied technologies has led to a number of important scientific discoveries and practical results. For example, joint research in the fields of geology, agriculture and exact sciences has contributed to the development of the two countries and strengthened their scientific potential.
The "Gravity Point" center is expected to become an innovative space that attracts ideas, talents and opportunities. Its main mission is to unite the young talented generation, experienced scientists and advanced specialists in finding solutions to modern problems.
After the opening ceremony, the participants of the event participated in a plenary session and discussed the issues of strategic cooperation expected to be implemented through the "Point of Gravity" center. In particular, the future models of the center's activities, plans and expected results, as well as issues such as digitalization of the energy, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, mining, alternative energy sources, nuclear energy, oil and gas production, railway construction, textiles, and housing construction were at the center of discussion.
