On April 13 of this year, vice-rector for international cooperation of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology Zebo Abdullaevna Babakhanova participated in the meeting of the PRME organization at KIMEP University of Kazakhstan.

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 5, 2018 “On additional measures to improve the quality of education in higher educational institutions and ensure their active participation in comprehensive reforms being implemented in the country”, to complete the tasks outlined in the relevant paragraphs of Resolution No. PQ -3775, and implementation of the tasks specified in Resolution No. PF-5847 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 8, 2019 on the approval of the concept of development of the higher education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, an official visit was organized by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the Institute Zebo Abdullaevna Babakhanova as a permanent member of the organization "Principles of Responsible Management Education" at the United Nations (PRME at the UN) to participate in the annual reporting meeting of the Eurasian branch of PRME, at KIMEP University of Kazakhstan.

The annual reporting meeting of the Eurasian branch of PRME was attended by the Vice-Rector of KIMEP , responsible persons of PRME Brendan Dupree (Narxoz University, Kazakhstan), Marzhan Berniyazova (KIMEP University, Kazakhstan), Evgenia Pashkevich (IBS Ranepa, Russian Federation), Aurora Diaz Soloaga (AlmaU, Kazakhstan), Ekaterina Ivanova (Higher School of Economics, Russian Federation), Aliya Akpaeva (AlmaU, Kazakhstan) and other members of the organization.

During the meeting, the organization’s work in 2023 was shown as part of achieving sustainable development goals, plans for 2024 were discussed, as well as the financial report of the Eurasian branch, also the PRME i5 project, funded by the Lego Foundation, and seminars organized by the i5 project coordinator Aurora Diaz. The Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology has been an active member of the PRME organization since 2020 and is considered the coordinator of this organization for Uzbekistan.

The organizing committee and regulatory documents on the activities of the Eurasian branch of PRME, as well as plans for 2024, were reviewed and approved :

Brendan Dupree – Co- Chair of the Steering Committee;

Marzhan Berniyazova – Co- Chair of the Steering Committee;

Evgenia Pashkevich – General secretary;

Aurora Diaz Soloaga – Vice-chair for Education and i5;

Ekaterina Ivanova – Vice-chair for research;

Aliya Akpayeva – Treasurer;

Navruz Erkaev – Vice-chair for Student Affairs.

During the meeting and business trip at the meeting of the PRME branch, it was agreed:

On April 22-23, as part of the “Congress of Modern Knowledge”, organized by TICT, a practical seminar will be organized on the activities of the PRME organization and the methodology of PRME i5 pedagogy for responsible employees of universities in Uzbekistan. During this practical visit of Aurora Diaz, explanatory work will be carried out about membership of universities in Uzbekistan in the PRME organization.

On May 20-25, the Scientific Week “Sustainable Development and Green Economy”, organized by TICT, will be attended by the Eurasian Department of PRME as a co-organizer, and the co-chairman of the organizing committee, Brendan Dupree, will take part with the report directly or online.

During 2024, each member - higher education organization will plan to conduct various events and practical work, as well as organize meetings with society and the general public in order to explain and implement sustainable development goals.
