A round table discussion was held on the issues of improving the legal framework for ensuring food safety in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Committee on Agrarian and Water Management of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology jointly held a round table discussion on the topic “Issues of improving the legal framework for ensuring food safety in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
It was attended by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations of the Institute Kh.L. Pulatov, Deputies S. Dzhumayeva, M. Akhmedova, D. Azizova, and professors, teachers and students of the Institute. The event discussed the relevance of the issue of ensuring food security and its legal basis, as well as the fact that this issue is in the focus of attention in the socio-economic policy of our country, and that large-scale work is being carried out in this regard in the most important priority area of the macroeconomic strategy of Uzbekistan, aimed at sustainable development and modernization of agriculture, aimed at increasing the well-being of the population.
The roundtable discussion highlighted that the effective agrarian and food policy pursued by the leadership of our state today serves to solve many socio-economic problems, and is also aimed at implementing the tasks of effectively using existing resources in agriculture, meeting the needs of the population, and increasing the volume of food production through economic and financial support for agricultural producers.
In addition, taking into account the complex climatic conditions, the climate-adapted nature of agriculture in Uzbekistan, the development of scientific research in the field of climate change adaptation, the introduction of modern agrotechnologies and practices, increasing water use efficiency and water conservation, and the incomparable role of our scientists in scientific research and the selection of climate-resistant crops were emphasized. In short, the systematic implementation of measures to develop agriculture and targeted support by the state serve to saturate the domestic market with high-quality, affordable agricultural products. The proposals and recommendations made by the participants of the round table will be sent to the relevant ministries and organizations.
