On March 4, 2025, the official opening ceremony of the “Minister's Cup” sports competition was held at the sports grounds of the University of Oriental Studies. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Sports, the leadership of the National Olympic and National Paralympic Committees and other organizations.

The officials who spoke at the opening ceremony noted that the “Minister's Cup” sports competition was organized in order to implement the initiatives of the head of our state aimed at bringing mass sports to a new level and increasing the physical activity of the population, and wished success to the participants.

Rectors (directors) of higher educational institutions competed in mini-football, table tennis and chess. In particular, the rector of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology Usmonov Botir Shukurillayevich also participated in this competition in chess.
