Delegation of Tashkent Institute of Chemical technology visited Alba Regia Technical Faculty of Obuda University at Szekesfehervar

Delegation of Tashkent Institute of Chemical technology with Rector of institute prof. B.Usmonov, Vice-rector prof. Z.Babakhanova and press secretary E.Abdulboqiev visited Alba Regia Technical Faculty of Obuda University at Szekesfehervar city. Delegation was hosted by Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Gyorgy Gyorok and coordinator for cooperation with Central Asia universities, Director of the Dual Coordination Office M. Pogatsnik. Delegation visited the Faculty newly renovated educational buildings, as well as mechatronics labs, the project of Mechatronics Technology and Innovation Parks Székesfehérvár was introduced by Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Gyorgy Gyorok.

Alba Regia Technical Faculty, Obuda University was established on July 1st, 2014, as a result of a merger between two Szekesfehervar-based higher educational institutes. Henceforth the Institute of Engineering and the Institute of Geoinformatics operate as the successors of two former institutes. The Institute of Engineering prides itself for its long-established educational traditions and professional experience in the border areas of engineering in electronics, informatics, mechatronics,technical and technical-economic sciences.

The Alba Regia Technical Faculty of Obuda University offers degree programs with an integrated on-the job training (dual education form) in the following courses: electrical engineer, informatics engineer, land surveying and land management engineer, mechanical engineer, and technical engineer.

Institute offers a variety of postgraduate courses using research and established connections to local industries business information management, network information technology engineer, engineers of geoinformatics and courses for industrial robotics engineers as well as precision farming engineers. Research work is trying to impact the local environment, the research activity covers the following areas: Industry 4.0, Robotics, Data Analysis and Data Mining, Business Informatics, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Further Geosciences and many more. The faculty subscribes to an average of 100 scientific publications per year (20 of them in specialist journals, 5 in prestigious journals, D1 / Q1 /Q2).

For information Obuda University is ranked among the world's top 1200 higher education institutions in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2023 ranking. According to the newly published THE data, 13 Hungarian universities have been included in the ranking. Óbuda University is the best technical higher education institution in Hungary, following Semmelweis University, ELTE and the University of Debrecen.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 list includes 1799 universities from 104 countries and regions. It is based on thirteen performance indicators that assesses institutions in four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

Meetings between Rector of Obuda University Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács and Rector of Tashkent Institute of Chemical technology prof. Botir Usmonov was organized during this day. Leaders of universities discussed future research and academic cooperation in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation of processes areas. Previously, on April 27, 2023, Prof. Levente Kovach was awarded the title of Honorary professor of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology for his contribution to the development of high-level cooperation in the field of science and higher education with Uzbekistan.

undefined Obuda University has done a lot to become a leading institution of technical higher education in Hungary, the Rector L.Kovach added. In addition to raising the quality of education, great emphasis has placed on strengthening research & development and industrial relations. Rector Kovacs said that an important achievement of this year was the student number increase, despite the overall decrease in the number of applicants in the country. Another important factor in Óbuda University's progress was the significant increase in the number of staff with academic qualifications.
