A spiritual and educational event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahmudkhodja Behbudiy was organized at the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology.

A spiritual and educational event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahmudkhodja Behbudiy was organized in the hall of activists of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Technologies of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology.

The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Technologies L.A. Yusupova, Deputy Dean for Youth Affairs J.T. Sidikov, tutors and students.

Mahmudkhodja Behbudiy was born on January 20, 1875 in the village of Bakhshitepa, Siyob volost, near Samarkand, in the family of imam-khatib Behbudkhodja Salihkhodja oglu.

A supporter of the Jadid national enlightenment movement. He established the "Behbudiya Library" and the "Behbudiya Publishing House".

In 1903–1904, he visited Moscow, Petersburg, Orenburg, Kazan and Crimea. He studied the experience of Russian and Tatar figures in the field of education. Mahmudkhodja Behbudiy first met Ismail Gaspirinsky in 1897 in Samarkand during Gaspirinsky's trip to Turkestan.
