Doctorate

Doctoral studies are designed to train scientists who are able to independently conduct scientific research and experimental design work, solve scientific problems, and work in academic and non-academic environments. The duration of the doctoral program is 3 years (full-time) and is open to those with a master's degree or equivalent. Doctoral studies include teaching, scientific research, preparation and defense of a doctoral thesis. Doctor of science degree is awarded to those who have completed doctoral studies and defended their doctoral thesis.

Doctoral students are charged with:

Publication of ≥ 5 articles from the republic and foreign countries, as well as ≥ 2 theses at republican and international conferences to defend the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. ≥ 8 articles, ≥ 2 international articles and ≥ 2 theses at national and international conferences are required to defend the degree of Doctor of Science.

Basic doctoral entrance exams and interviews for doctoral entrance are held annually from November 1 to November 25, and the selection of applicants for independent research is held annually until November 30.

1. Applicants for basic doctoral study pass entrance exams for specialty and foreign language (foreign language learned at previous levels of education). Applicants must have IELTS (average score of at least 5.5), TOEFL (RVT) (not less than 567 points), TOEFL (iBT) (not less than 87 points), CEFR (not lower than V2 level) are exempted from exams in a foreign language in the presence of valid international qualification certificates.

2. Candidates entering for internship-research and doctoral studies shall be selected by the collegial body according to their specialization.

Based on the results of entrance exams, interview results, and allocated admission quota, applicants for internship-research, basic doctorate and doctoral studies are selected by the admission commission and (or) the collegial body until November 30.

The Admissions Committee formalizes the results of the entrance exams of basic doctoral students with the minutes of the meeting and submits them to the Collegiate body for approval within five days. The results of the interview of candidates studying in internship-research and doctoral studies are also confirmed by the decision of the collegial body.

At the same time, the decision of the collegial body approves the topics of the basic doctoral studies and doctoral dissertations of those admitted to the doctoral studies.

The results of interviews with applicants for independent research are confirmed by the decisions of the collegial body. At the same time, the decision of the collegial body approves the dissertation topics of independent researchers and determines the terms of remuneration for the work of a scientific supervisor or scientific consultant.

Admission to research internship, basic doctoral studies and doctoral studies is carried out by the order of the rector of TKTI every year until December 5.

Academic supervisors and academic consultants (if there are consultants) are also determined in the order on admission.

Applicants are authorized for independent research by the order of the head of a scientific organization or educational institution, which is published quarterly by March 5, June 5, September 5, and December 5. The order also specifies scientific supervisors and scientific consultants (if there are consultants) of independent researchers.

Information about trainee-researchers, basic doctoral studies and/or doctoral students, their approved topics, scientific supervisors and scientific consultants (in cases where consultants are appointed):

by TKTI - to higher ministries, offices and organizations until December 10 every year;

by ministries, departments and organizations - entered into the Unified electronic system by December 15 of each year.

There is no age limit for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Also, an organization that does not belong to scientific activity can conduct scientific research by being registered as an independent researcher while working in an enterprise.

Intern-research, basic doctoral studies and doctoral studies will begin on January 1 of the following year.

In 2022, the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology will determine the procedure for the admission of applicants to the doctoral program.

● Admission is made to both state and non-budgetary educational institutions. Applicants for each educational program are accepted on a competitive basis.

● Admission to the Dock can be done in several stages every year, after the main admission, subject to the availability of budget and non-budget places.

How are documents submitted?

Applications and documents for participation in the competition for admission to doctoral studies are submitted in electronic form and in paper form in accordance with the procedure established by the admission rules of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology.

The applicant fills out an application for admission to the doctoral program of TKTI in the unified electronic system of coordination of post-secondary education (unless otherwise specified) and attaches all the necessary documents specified in the admission rules. If all the required documents are not submitted, the applicant's application will not be considered.

If the master's degree was awarded later than the deadline for submitting documents, in this case, instead of a diploma, the applicant must upload an academic certificate issued by the educational institution where he received the master's degree. Such a certificate must confirm that the person is studying at this educational institution (indicates the beginning of education, the end of studies), the date of the master's diploma, as well as the list of subjects studied at the master's degree. showing their size.

Applicants for internship-research and doctoral studies are required to undergo an interview by the Collegiate body.

Basic doctoral students pass examinations in their specialty

Specialization in the selection of applicants for independent research

The duration of the interview with each applicant on the specialty is determined by the doctoral committee of the scientific field.

Reasonable written appeals regarding incorrect assessment of admission documents and admission results shall be submitted to the university's doctoral program within the time limits established by the regulations. Received appeals are reviewed and decisions are made by the doctoral commission on the relevant field of study. Only applications supported by reasonable and objective facts will be considered. Answers are prepared by the university's doctoral staff based on the decision of the Doctor of Science commission and presented to the candidates.

In the event that several applicants have the same final scores on the entrance exams for internship-research, basic doctoral studies, and doctoral studies, or the results of interviews, the following applicants will be given priority:

a) for internship-research and basic doctoral studies: those who have completed the master's degree with excellent marks; holders of copyrights and patents; who have published scientific articles in journals, including foreign journals;

b) for doctoral studies: those who have more than 5 years of scientific and pedagogical experience; holders of copyrights and patents; monograph (for social and humanitarian sciences), who have a large number of scientific articles (compared to other applicants) published in relevant scientific journals, including foreign journals, on the subject of the applicant's dissertation; completed more than 50 percent of the volume of dissertation research.

The name of the scientific topic and the scientific leader are chosen independently by the applicant.
