Doctoral studies are designed to train scientists who are able to independently conduct scientific research and experimental design work, solve scientific problems, and work in academic and non-academic environments. The duration of the doctoral program is 3 years (full-time) and is open to those with a master's degree or equivalent. Doctoral studies include teaching, scientific research, preparation and defense of a doctoral thesis. Doctor of science degree is awarded to those who have completed doctoral studies and defended their doctoral thesis.

Doctoral students are charged with:
Publication of ≥ 5 articles from the republic and foreign countries, as well as ≥ 2 theses at republican and international conferences to defend the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. ≥ 8 articles, ≥ 2 international articles and ≥ 2 theses at national and international conferences are required to defend the degree of Doctor of Science.

Step 1
Documents are accepted by the admission commission of scientific organizations and educational institutions from September 15 to October 15 through a single electronic system and at the institution's admission commission.
Applicants for internship-research, basic doctoral studies (PhD), independent research (PhD) must submit the following documents
1. Application.
2. Brief biographical information (objective - sample 3.5 in Uzbek and Russian).
3. A certified copy of the employment book (for working applicants).
4. A copy of a diploma of a master's degree of a higher educational institution or completion of a clinical residency (for medical sciences), higher education (for specialized programs).
5. List of published scientific works, as well as their copies (at least 1 article and 2 theses).
6. Description from the workplace (for independent applicants)
7. Passport copy.
8. Copy of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (if available)
9. IELTS, TOEFL (RVT and iBT), CEFR or other recognized certificates (if available).
Doctoral studies (DSc), independent study Doctoral studies (DSc) Applicants for study must submit the following documents
1. Application.
2. Brief biographical information (objective, sample form 3.5, in Uzbek and Russian).
3. A certified copy of the employment book (for working applicants).
4. A copy of a diploma of higher education, candidate of science or doctor of philosophy (PhD) or an equivalent scientific degree in foreign countries.
5. A scientific report on the topic of research and a detailed draft of the doctoral dissertation plan prepared for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc).
6. List of published scientific works, as well as their copies (at least 3 articles and 2 theses).
7. Description from the workplace (for independent applicants)
8. Passport copy.
9. Scientific achievements (a copy of the document of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan)
All documents are prepared in PDF format and sent with registration through the unified electronic system for coordinating post-secondary education. If all necessary documents are not submitted within the specified period, the applicant's application will not be considered.
Step 2
Basic doctoral entrance exams and interviews for doctoral entrance are held annually from November 1 to November 25, and the selection of applicants for independent research is held annually until November 30.
1. Applicants for basic doctoral study pass entrance exams for specialty and foreign language (foreign language learned at previous levels of education). Applicants must have IELTS (average score of at least 5.5), TOEFL (RVT) (not less than 567 points), TOEFL (iBT) (not less than 87 points), CEFR (not lower than V2 level) are exempted from exams in a foreign language in the presence of valid international qualification certificates.
2. Candidates entering for internship-research and doctoral studies shall be selected by the collegial body according to their specialization.
