Department of civil and labor protection

The Department of Civil and Labor Protection is a structural unit of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology. Currently, the head of the department is Umidjon Uralovich Muminov. The department also includes an engineer for civil protection and emergency situations (A.A. Buribekov) and a fire safety instructor (R.G.Azizov).

The head of the department reports directly to the Vice-Rector for Economic and Organizational Affairs.

One of the main goals of the department is to ensure the safety of administrators, employees, service personnel, teaching staff, and students of the institute.

Additional objectives include:

· Developing and implementing evacuation and protection plans for people in emergency situations;

· Preparing for and preventing emergencies;

· Developing response procedures and conducting practical training in case of botulism outbreaks, fires, earthquakes, technological accidents, and other emergencies;

· Regular inspection and maintenance of technical and fire safety equipment;

· Monitoring compliance with occupational safety legislation;

· Ensuring adherence to the labor protection and safety laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

· Conducting occupational safety briefings for newly hired employees;

· Creating safe working conditions in workplaces;

· Supplying first aid kits with medicines and improving sanitary-hygienic conditions and technical safety standards;

Providing employees with personal protective equipment and monitoring their proper usage.

The department operates in accordance with the applicable legislation, relevant orders of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decisions of the Institute’s Council, as well as the Institute’s Charter, Internal Labor Regulations, Code of Ethics, and the Regulations of the Department of Civil and Labor Protection.

The main responsibilities of the department include:

· Training staff in methods of protection against potential hazards;

· Preparing for actions to protect institute facilities during or as a result of various incidents; organizing, developing, and maintaining management, communication, and alert systems in constant readiness;

· Ensuring the readiness of civil protection structures;

· Organizing and maintaining order in areas affected by emergencies;

· Organizing fire safety services funded by the institute;

Coordinating the activities of the institute’s departments in the field of occupational safety.
